Quorum Sensing is term to describe the phenomenon whereby the accumulation of signaling molecules enable a single cell to sense the number of bacteria. There are many different bacteria living together which use various classes of signaling molecules in the natural environment. As they employ different languages they cannot necessarily talk to all other bacteria. Nowadays several quorum sensing systems are intensively studied in various organisms such as marine bacteria and several pathogenic bacteria. This review discusses some of the more significant break through in the areas of defining quorum sensing and harnessing quorum signaling for biotechnology that have appeared in the literature over the past few years. A hasty overview of quorum sensing mechanics is provided with greater deliberate of some of the specific functions carried out by extracellular signaling that have emerged recently....
Hemidesmus indicus (L) radix (asclepediace) is being used widely in ayurvedic medicine. Literature survey revels those plant posses the diuretic, antifungal, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, blood purifier property, Aim of the present study is to determine the antibacterial activity of Hemidesmus indicus (L) radix various extract like Petroleum ether and Chloroform....
A complex three species model community fungi, was selected from organisms isolated from upper Lake of Bhopal. Growth rates of the species were determined in single and mixed batch culture growth. The rates were found to be significantly higher culture for Acremonium, Exophiala and Phialophora. All species attached to PVC in single and mixed culture to form biofilms Acremonium was significantly higher than attachment of the component species in mixed culture. Statistical analyses showed a significant difference in rate of colonization between single and mixed cultures for some species. Biofilm formation is major problem affecting Fresh water of Lake which causes major health problem hence biofilm formation further suggested that spores, not hyphae or vegetative cells, comprised the primary source of viable propagules....
Cutaneous malignant melanoma is a life threatening cancer with poor prognostics due to high metastasis potential. The main obstacle in treatment of metastasis melanoma is the resistance to chemotherapy. Recent studies indicated that apoptosis is a common mechanism of action for various cytotoxic agents. As p53 play important role in apoptosis, we reviewed the role of p53 in chemosenstivity of melanoma cells and we are poised for major advances and eagerly anticipate the translation of these discoveries to improved patient management and novel therapies....
